Photos from Summer League 2012 Part 2
Here are some photo’s from our second day at Summer League. I was able to take some more action shots during the Cavs vs Bobcats and then some shots of the Hornets v Blazers. I got some shots of Damian Lillard, Austin RIvers, Dion Waiters, and more. Well the more, I actually don’t know who they are but it’s their time to shine. Let’s Go…
Us getting into the arena and setting up on media row. A lot of people were hoping to see MKG aka Micheal Kidd-Gilchrist but he was held out of the game with a sore knee.
Chris Bosh showed up and did a spot with NBA TV. Surprisingly he wasn’t just walking around telling people he was a champ.
Here’s Dion Waiters setting his man up for a pull up jumper. I was interested to see Waiters and what he could do especially with all the statistical comparisons to D.Wade. One note, in this game he got the bulk of his points getting to the line so there is that.
And the aforementioned pull up jumper.
Here was Waiters on Kemba Walker. He did a decent job on the defensive end but he wasn’t always rewarded with touches back on the offensive end.
This was the 7 footer Hamadye N’Diaye going for the block.
After the Cleveland and Charlotte game, New Orleans took on Portland and it was first chance to see Austin Rivers and Damian Lillard up close.
Up close Rivers was smaller than I anticipated but maybe it’s just the fact that he still looks like he’s 12 in comparison to the rest of the guys on the court.
Lillard on the other hand looked solid out on the court. He looks built to handle the not only the position but also the long NBA season.
Rivers versus Austin. Lillard was just a little shorter than Austin but had a pretty decent first step and got by Lillard. It’ll be interesting to see if Rivers can do that consistently in the Pros. He was very vocal even when on the bench whereas Lillard seemed more like a lead by example type player.
Lillard was definitely quick and could get into the lane and get his shot whenever he wanted to.
Overall it was a good night at the Thomas and Mack pavillion and Jordan and I had way to much fun covering the game and getting interviews and photos. So until next Summer League, you diabolically fun and accessible mistress.
