On top of that the Giants are paying around another $17-20 Million a year on the park.
Tim Lincecum has yet to sign a contract for 2012 and may take the team to arbitration which means he could make everywhere from $15 to $28 Million for 2012.
The team is trying to sign Matt Cain to a long term deal, so who knows how much that's going to cost and how much he's going to make in 2012.
Pablo Sandoval is arbitration eligible. He made a 1/2 Million in 2011, do you know how much he's going to make in arbitration for 2012?
I don't know, and neither do the Giants but I would guess around $3-5 Million
The Giants have another 7 players that are arbitration eligible including Ryan Vogelsong in each case the Giants have to budget with the Giants losing the arbitration case.
That's a lot of money tied up in the unknown.
It sure would help if Timmy and Matt would agree to new contracts.
It's easy to say the Giants should sign Fielder, but they have no idea how much money it's going to cost to resign Cain, and Lincecum.
Juan, the Giants have one of the highest payrolls in baseball @$130 Million(5th?)
