That's the thing, though. Last year we had two competent center fielders, in the case of Torres, a very good CF.

Ross, could step in if need be. Now those three are gone. Nate is not a center fielder. The stats say he's a so-so right fielder, those of us who have watched him play, know he is very good. But not a CF. Pagan is supposed to be better in center than Melky Cabrera, and Cabrera, if the reports from the last couple of days are to be believed, is more comfortable in left. So I don't agree that there are necessarily quality CFs to step in if Pagan doesn't pay as well as hoped. And Gary Brown shouldn't be in the discussion. Let's see how he does in AA before counting on that. Pagan isn't on a multi-year deal and Huff is in his last year, so maybe if things don't work out, they address CF sometime during the year.
