Pagan deserves a chance just like Torres. He was friends with and idolized Beltran, so that played a part, too.

Basically, we traded like for like except one has offense while the other defense. One needs anger management while the other needs Ritalin. We also got rid of arb eligible salary and got cash back. I think Pagan will be good on offense and will be decent enough in the field. If he does not work out or needs help in the field, we have Schierholtz or the bench to go to. The Giants will find someone he can talk with and keep him in check. I expect big things from Pagan and Melky.
