Beltran has to commit to something as to what is a good deal for him. Did he keep stalling or refusing to commit?
At least with Ross, I get it.
G: We can give you one year.
Ross: I'll accept two and give you a hometown discount.
G: See ya later.
I hope this is just negotiation tactics to get Beltran to commit. I doubt there are better deals than Beltran out there, but if he chooses to wait and not commit, then there isn't much we can do. It doesn't sound like he wants to play in SF.
What kind of money and years did Beltran want? It's just more frustration with Beltran.
