It may well be stupid, though baseball is the one sport where you really can transform a depressed area of town and actually make some economic impact. But the point is, there was nothing in that article to suggest that a crime was actually committed.
The Niners should leave. That stadium needs to be torn down. It was a blight when the Giants were still there. As for the Warriors, they'll be back. Hang in there.
Taxpayer funding of a stadium is not a crime.
