If no more moves are made to add another bat to the OF, Belt will also need to be a difference make for the G's offense to have a chance. If he can have a .275, 22hr, 75rbi type season, the offense is set, ala 2010 Huff.
IMHO, Pill is the other missing component. He has the chance to be the RH power bat, that the G's have been missing.. I again liken him to Jeff Kent, who was a bit of a late boomer, but came on really strong. Similarly, Kent was considered an "average" defender w/ some pop. He was also a gamer, which I'm hoping Pill is too. They both have the whipping bat style, which plays well in SF. RH pull power seems to flourish in SF. I see a platoon of Huff and Pill at 1B and am hoping one of them gets hot! IMO, Pill is the future at 1B!
Don't forget about Pill...
