They act like Brandon Crawford has hit .204 for five ML seasons or something. The kid got thrown into the mix in a rush, hit poorly, went back down, came back and hit much better. He made strides during the fall.
Is he going to be a much better hitter? I don't know. Is there a reason to assume he will be stuck at .204 all of his life? That's just ludicrous. But spending money for a half-ass veteran is worse than taking a shot with the rook, and they need that money if they are going to sign another hitter.
This isn't a question of improving the offense over last year. They could do nothing and that would happen. "Some of it was injuries." LOL. Ya think?
I'm pretty sick of the lame analysis I keep seeing in national pubs.
