prior years have involved capital calls and that the budget is pretty high for a team paying its own stadium costs. As long as the idea of a rainy day includes moves that may need to be made, keeping the pitching staff when they get even more expensive, etc. I'm fine with it. $130M is a shitload of money. Too bad only $100 is for players who matter.
I'm looking forward to the day when the stadium is paid off and Barry Zito is just a bad memory, and maybe a new joint arena project with the Warriors is generating additional revenue for both teams (one can dream). In the meantime, things could be a lot worse and I'm not going to rag on these guys for only jumping $30M in two years.
