I think Beltran wants to land somewhere competitive and for the longest contract and biggest dollars he can get. I doubt he goes to a bad team for big money, but I don't see wanting the best you can get from your last contract as being selfish. It's not like he owes any particular loyalty to the Giants.
It's business. If he was a homegrown guy and had been paid by the organization while being injured for a couple of years I might feel differently about it.
