The owners would have to bump it up for one season to get Beltran (after that you have Rowand off the books which helps) or they have to dump some salary somewhere else. I don't see any real attractive possibilities there.
I think we're headed into a season with an offense that could be better than 2010 IF everyone that needs to be healthy stays healthy and everyone who needs to be in shape gets in shape and they all have decent years. And I don't think we'll be seeing any big new names in the lineup.
All the moaning about the terrible offense just ignores the fact that we won't have the 2011 offense again, no matter what.
If the payroll is $130M, none of that stuff works.
