Third baseman Pablo Sandoval underwent LASIK surgery today on his left eye, presumably trying once and for all to solve a vision problem that has dogged him since his rookie year.

Sandoval’s brother, Michael, tweeted that the procedure was a success while the Panda reportedly told a Spanish language newspaper that the surgery lasted 30 minutes.

Sandoval has tried contact lenses and goggles to enhance the vision in his left eye, but has discarded them because they disrupted him on the field. It is believed that the vision troubles in his left eye have contributed to his struggles hitting right-handed.
