put them at a disadvantage. not only do they toss extra innings, but the "real" playoff teams get a bit more rest. though, the one game might be the way to go because of the wcard team's need to start their best pitcher for that game. with the 3-game series, they would most likely be able to start their no. 1 in the first game of the divisional series. three games. two travel days. they could easily line up for the new series.
