he was a significantly better hitter in September than he was in July, hit well in the AZ league, and looks to me like he can become a decent hitter. He keeps his composure, has a decent OBP for a guy struggling to hit, and has made some changes to his swing that helped.
And if they get an outfield bat, he'll do fine as the 8 hitter.
His defense alone is worth a lot to a team based around pitching.
