The deal makes sense for both sides, although the Royals are seemingly getting more upside in the long run. The 27-year-old Cabrera had a career-best .305/.339/.470 line with 18 homers and 87 RBI along with 20 steals for Kansas City last season. Cabrera figures to be the Giants' everyday center field in 2012 as prospect Gary Brown isn't quite ready to take on that role.
